Elizabeth Floyd “Grandiflora” Solo Exhibition

We invite you to join us for the opening of Elizabeth Floyd’s Solo Exhibition, titled “Grandiflora.” The opening reception will be held in the gallery on September 5th from 5-8pm.

“Introducing Grandiflora

Over the past year, I’ve been immersed in painting a new body of work centered on large, expressive blooms—hydrangeas, magnolias, peonies, and more—paired with personal mementos, books, and familiar scenes from daily life. These 25 oil paintings invite you to pause, reflect, and experience the comfort of beauty in the quiet corners of home.

Grandiflora celebrates the grandeur of nature’s blooms and the tenderness of memory. It’s about the warmth that color brings, the poetry of petals, and the intimate spaces we create for ourselves.”

Elizabeth Floyd began her career as an architect, though her true passion had always been to become an artist. Her first foray into painting with oils—her current medium—did not occur until 2006. In 2009, she achieved her goal of transitioning to art full-time. Following this shift, she pursued further artistic education and undertook an intensive focus on skill development.

Floyd studied with a number of instructors, including fellow Principle Gallery artist Robert Liberace. Her studies encompassed the three primary genres of representational art: still life, landscape, and figurative.

Today, she specializes in both landscape and still life painting. Her work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions throughout the region, along with three solo exhibitions in recent years. With each piece, she continues to establish herself as a dynamic voice in contemporary representational art.
