Sara Linda Poly
Born in 1945, Sara Linda Poly lived in the Philadelphia area until 1977, when she relocated to Washington, D.C. She studied at the Philadelphia Academy of Arts, Montgomery College of Art and Design, NOVA Community College, and with various local and national artists. Her travels across the western United States and abroad inspired her focus on landscape painting.
Poly initially owned a graphic arts and illustration business before shifting her focus to portraiture and working as an assistant gallery director. Today, she paints and teaches full-time. She instructs plein air and studio painting classes at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, and the Easton Studio in Maryland. Additionally, she leads travel workshops both locally and internationally.
Based in Easton, Maryland, Poly is a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, the Oil Painters of America, the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters of America, and New York City’s Salmagundi Club.
