Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer Hudson is an award-winning Maryland-based cut-paper artist and painter. She began her career as a watercolor painter, focusing on realistic nature scenes and surreal, fantasy-inspired illustrations. Her deep love of the natural world remains evident in her continued use of flora and animals throughout her work.
Hudson graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts in 2014 with a concentration in painting. In 2016, she began exploring paper cutting as her primary medium, drawn to its sculptural and tactile possibilities.
Using a variety of X-Acto knives, Hudson meticulously hand cuts delicate works that emphasize movement, texture, and dimension. By layering multiple sheets of paper, she creates highly detailed three-dimensional pieces featuring recurring motifs such as foxes, birds, dragons, and lace-like structures. She is a member of the Guild of American Paper Cutters, the International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists, and a Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists. Through her intricate work, Hudson continues to push the boundaries of contemporary paper art while celebrating the beauty and vitality of the natural world.
