Jeff Erickson is a contemporary abstract painter living in Alexandria, Virginia. At a young age, Jeff knew he wanted art to play a major role in his life. His grandmother who was an American Impressionist painter inspired him. Erickson would watch her create colorful brush strokes across the canvas. Jeff grew up traveling the world and living in faraway lands with his family. He was fortunate enough to visit museums across the world and absorb images of the landscapes he traveled. Jeff values each adventure because it inspired the art he creates to this day; “My art developed out of these experiences with an eye towards texture and abstraction.”
His paintings have a minimal and literal landscape element, while he tries to capture and convey the textures of life. He captures them in such a reduced and abstracted way that allows his pieces to radiate senses of relaxation and tranquility.
