Claudio Cionini
Claudio Cionini was born in Grosseto, Tuscany, in 1978. After studying painting at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, his attention turned to the industrial landscapes surrounding the town of Piombino, where he now lives. A visit to Paris in 2007 provided further inspiration. Fascinated by the city’s boulevards and their seemingly endless vistas, the urban landscape has since become a constant subject in his work.
Over years of painting, several fundamental hallmarks have come to the forefront in Cionini’s practice: space, perspective, vanishing point, and atmospheric perspective. These elements, combined with confident brushstrokes, contribute to his instantly recognizable cityscapes from around the world. New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Melbourne, and London are among his favored subjects.
Cionini continues to live and work in Piombino, where he draws inspiration from the world’s great cities and their evolving urban landscapes. Through his distinctive style and masterful use of space and perspective, he invites viewers to experience familiar environments through a fresh and dynamic lens.
