Brian Martin
Brian Martin earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and his Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his personal artwork, he has worked as an illustrator, graphic and web designer, muralist, and decorative artist for a cabinet maker. He has taught drawing, painting, and color and two-dimensional design at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and currently teaches illustration, drawing, and painting at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Martin has exhibited his work nationally—from Texas to New England—and internationally in Australia. In 2008, he served as an artist-in-residence at the Johnstown Bottleworks in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where he co-curated Calm Americans, an exhibition featuring national and international painters. His artwork has also been featured in major art publications, including Poets and Artists.
Today, Martin continues to paint, seek new exhibition opportunities, and enjoy life in Providence, Rhode Island, with his wife, Amy, and son, Elliott.
