Benjamin Walter
Benjamin Walter is a young landscape artist based in Jackson, Wyoming. He began drawing as soon as he could hold a crayon and discovered landscape painting during a summer class at the age of eleven. From ages eleven to eighteen, he was mentored by a painter in Philadelphia, where he learned the fundamentals of classical art. After earning a master’s degree in Classical Languages and Literature from the University of Oxford, he moved to Jackson in 2015. Since then, he has become an active part of the local art scene, participating in plein air festivals, workshops, and gallery exhibitions.
Walter captures the stark beauty of the Western landscape through a harmonious palette and thoughtful composition. Painting both en plein air and in the studio, he aims to convey the light, atmosphere, and emotional depth of the natural world. His work reflects a deep sense of wonder and reverence for the landscape, seeking to express both its majesty and its quiet, contemplative power.
