Mark Laguë
Mark Laguë has developed an international reputation and has won numerous awards, both in his native Canada and in the United States. Born in Lachine, Quebec, in 1964, he has been fascinated with drawing since childhood—a practice he continues to refine to this day.
After earning a degree in Design from Montreal’s Concordia University, Laguë spent 13 years in the animation industry, working primarily as a background designer and art director. Despite the demands of full-time work, he gained international acclaim for his watercolor paintings through competitions, juried shows, and solo exhibitions.
In 2000, Laguë transitioned to oil as his primary medium, and by 2002 he had become a full-time painter. A realist at heart, he embraces a wide range of subject matter, driven by an ongoing quest to distill each scene to its essence. His work has been featured in numerous national art publications and continues to garner international recognition for its bold style and dynamic execution.
